Welcome to Worplesdon Rangers FC

As we move to another season, Worplesdon Rangers have 14 teams, approaching 300 players, 30 coaches FA level 1, 1 FA level 1 goalkeeping coach. Running age groups from reception to Under 16.

Last season U 8 finished runners up in their Div and festival whiners, U13 finished runners up in their Div. Under 11 reached Cup Final for second year could not repeat win after original final was postponed at half time due to waterlogged pitch with sides 2-2.

First for the Cub- International Tournament - Ian Lacey and Jamie Atkin took their under 11 team at the end of May along with terrific parental support and played in an 11 a side Tournament in France. A great weekend and finish to their season, teams from various countries took part the boys although they did not win played well and received the Sportsmanship Trophy from the organisers.

Our teams play in the Surrey Primary League. We have players registered to play at Under 16's, with teams in the age groups down to reception. With 300 boys (and some girls) at the club, we aim to provide organised, structured training. Our coaching sessions are supervised by experienced, F.A. qualified Coaches, and as part of our Charter status, have Child Protection and Equal opportunity policies in place. Training takes place on Saturday mornings in various locations around Guildford.

Club vacancies

Tim Hort Chairman for past 7 years has announced he will be retiring at the AGM in July, therefore we are seeking a Deputy Chairman now with a view to becoming Chairman for next season. Any interested parties to contact Tim to discuss role. Ideally we would like in place for January as we start planning the following season. Team Reps required for Under 9 Hurricanes, Under 10, Under 14 age groups, see your team manager for information. First Monday in month meetings 8pm -10pm Stoughton Social Club. Role to be the link between team and Committee and to pass information to parents. The Club has grown and it is vital each age is represented.

Well done to U8's Tigers and Lions

Worplesdon Ranger Tigers (Under 8's) have won the Surrey Primary league Division 4 title in their first season of competitive football. Scoring an amazing 69 goals and only conceding 7 goals all season they finished the season in style last weekend by beating Fleet Town 6-0.

The Worplesdon Rangers Lions should finish up as runners up just behind the Tigers, as long as Feltham don’t win by 19 clear goals this coming Sunday. Its been a great year for both the Rangers under 8's teams with the boys improving week by week.

Penalty competition

Mini soccer teams will be on Sat 26th Apil at Northmead. Forms will be on website in a few weeks, further information from team reps or managers. Please support Club in main fund raising event. 11 aside Penalty Competition to be arranged with managers by Brian Slyfield.

Match of the Year

The long awaited manager/coaches match between the mini soccer teams and 11 a side has been arranged for Sunday 27th April at Cardwells Keep, kick off subject to fixtures. Manager of the 11 a side squad is Nick Lisicke, Manager required for mini soccer. Make a note in your diary, more details to follow.

Under 6 news

we are now establishing a new team so more players are required to add to the 8 or so currently training on Saturdays 10- 11:30 at Northmead School playing field off Grange Road. For information please contact Rupert Phillips. 01483 504002.

Beyond the Grass

Worplesdon Rangers were the first Charter Standard Club in Surrey to be featured in a new initiative from Surrey FA, a newsletter titled Beyond The Grass was published in December 2007. Read the article.
